Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated every year to commemorate the Birth of Lord Hanuman, who is the Lord of Courage, Bravery and Adventure. It is celebrated on 15th day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month according to Hindu Calender. In 2025, Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on Saturday, 12th of April.
Legend Behind Hanuman Jayanti :
As per Ramayana, the most respected Hindu Epic, when Lord Vishnu took birth as Lord Rama to free this Earth from the tortures of the dreaded Demon king Ravan, the other Gods and Goddesses also took birth to help Lord Rama. In this very context, Lord Shiva who is one of the Gods of Holy Trinity, took birth as Lord Hanuman to help and support Lord Rama in his crusade against demon king Ravana and therefore Lord Hanuman is known as "11th Rudra Avatar".
Lord Hanuman is supposed to be the ultimate representative of Courage, Fearlessness, Bravery, Cleverness and Devotion. His dedication to Lord Rama is quoted as an example every now and then. Anyone who prays to Lord Hanuman is bestowed with all the above virtues in his life. Lord Hanuman is also representative of Sound Health and Ultimate Strength as per ancient vedic texts.
Lord Hanuman was born to Mata Anjni on the Full Moon day (Poornmasi) of the Chaitra Month on Tuesday. Hence, his Birthday is celebrated as "Hanuman Jayanti" every year on this day, and Tuesday is considered very auspicious for worshipping to Lord Hanuman.

As per Ancient epic Ramayana, Lord Hanuman was blessed by Goddess Sita as the bestower of all kinds of Wealth & Prosperity. As per the great Epic Mahabharata, Arjuna requested Anjaneya (Lord Hanuman) to be on his flag as it will be assured winning by keeping his symbol as a flag. Lord Krishna also told Arjuna that when there is a Anjaneya flag fluttering on his chariot and the chariot is driven by Krishna, no one can beat him in the battle. Anjaneya or Lord Hanuman symbol is a secret to win. One can keep Lord Hanuman Locket or Yantra or Symbol of him which will prove a protective talisman and will protect the native from any danger, negativity, evil eye or black magic.

There are many names through which Lord Hanuman is famous among his devotees like Bajrangbali, Pavansut, Pavankumar, Mahavira, Balibima, Marutsut, Anjanisut, Sankat Mochan, Anjaneya, Maruti, Rudra, etc. Lord Hanuman is worshipped in many ways by his devotees, some meditates by repeating his name many times to get Power, Fame, Success, Intelligence, Strength, etc. whereas some chants the Hanuman Mantra or Hanuman Chalisa to appease Lord Hanuman. Whoever chants the Hanuman Chalisa with full devotion, will have Hanuman's grace.
